Saddam`s uniform was put up for auction
American Manion has put up for auction military uniform of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein.
According to the organizers ex-dictator`s shirt and pants were found by an American soldier when coalition forces captured Baghdad airport in spring 2003. Pentagon reports American servicemen were banned to take any belongings except some special cases, Reuters agency informs.
The auction`s website says the uniform is in perfect condition. The initial price is $5000 but the organizers believe to gain much more. Auction ends at 1 December. No one counted yet.
According to advertisement Manion has sold another Hussein`s uniform earlier. A buyer paid $20 thousand.
After Saddam Hussein`s regime overthrow thousands objects related to the former Iraqi leader appeared in many commercial organizations, including internet-auction eBay. Most often Iraqi dinars with Hussein`s face were put up for auction which became more expensive since Americans marched into Baghdad.
